Does an engine service have to be carried out in or out of the water?
Either but it is easier to do the service in the water.  To do a service when out, a water supply is required and not all checks can be done.

Are all Volvo Penta aquamatic outdrives the same or similar?
No, there have been 56 models each with sub versions.  Knowing which yours is will be an advantage when calling us.

My boat’s performance is down.  The engine does not produce the same revs as before, what is wrong?
More than likely there is growth on the bottom of the hull and the drive and props are covered in barnacles.  This condition will make an increasable resistance through the water.  Lift the boat out and have it scrubbed off.  You will be amazed at the difference.
